Last week we were in California to visit some friends and family. We spent a few days in San Diego and a few in Los Angeles. We got to go to great places like Anaheim Disneyland and California Adventure, Rodeo Drive, The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hooters (for the food), and Universal Studios. Pictures are now up.
We have enrolled Gabby to the local sports center’s swimming program. She enjoyed it the first day that she didn’t want to leave on her second day. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.
After a few months, we’ve finally updated the photo gallery with a few pictures. Weng and Gabby’s first Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years here in the states. No pictures from the New Year though since we just stayed home.
Gabby’s growing so fast. She’s been recently moved to the toddler area at her day care and will start her swimming lessons this Saturday. We’re glad that she has been gaining her weight back. She’s been sick on and off these past months.
Speaking of growing, Gabby became Ate Gabby in just 3 months. My sister Christina is a new mom with her baby boy Zozo, and just this weekend, My brother Jim is a new dad with his baby girl Ririn. Congrats!
September 22, 2007 - Our little angel has just turned one…this 12:30 am…Manila time. Here in the States, we prepared a small celebration with the family members residing in the same state. The theme of her birthday is “Disney Princesses.” Her dress is also a princess dress bought from the Disney Store. Her plates, cups and napkins also match the theme.
It saddens us that we can not provide a “normal” children’s party. Why? We don’t know any kids here…not yet…Hopefully, next year would be different.
Anyway, we hope that our Gabrielle would grow up to be a God-fearing person…someone who would have respect for others and most especially her parents…someone who would always think when choosing between what is right and what is easy…
Gabby…no matter what happens…we will always be here for you…loving you. We are really happy that you came to us that September 22, 2006. Enjoy your party and presents! God bless you our little angel!!!
Weng’s Employment Authorization card arrived today. Now she can basically start applying for a job. We’ll be applying for an SS number soon, so she can start working and maybe apply for a driver’s license as well. It took about/almost 3 months from then receiving the application to us receiving the card. Hopefully her green card follows soon.
Gabby’s first tooth just popped up. Here’s how happy she was:

We went on a tour of Washington DC last saturday on a double decker bus with the top off. It was rather interesting riding around DC up high on a bus. This was actually my first time to sight see DC, considering that I’ve lived around here for over 5 years now. Pictures will be up soon.
Well they’ve been here for over a week now. It’s just been busy these last few days trying to set up the apartment now that Weng and Gabby are here. We have recently received the stuff we got from IKEA and are in the process of assembling everything. So far we are almost done with half of the stuff. I hope my back is almost done hurting.
